Students’ Union Risk and Change Readiness
How can students’ unions prepare for institutional change and help shape the decisions that affect their members?
Our consultation report draws on responses from 52 students’ unions to explore readiness for collaboration, restructuring and wider change across higher education. It examines involvement in university decision-making, governance and risk planning, and the time and capacity available to prepare.
The report brings together the findings, Coole Insight’s analysis and proposed next steps for developing practical support with the sector. It offers a starting point for officers, trustees and senior leaders considering their union’s future. The findings reflect the participating unions’ experiences rather than a representative assessment of the whole sector.
