Charlotte Baker: Advancing Student Representation and Equality in Higher Education

Charlotte Baker has been a passionate advocate for students and equality since her journey began in 2020 as a Student Voice Assistant. Her early experience in student representation, training, and feedback collection laid the foundation for her impressive career.

From 2022–2024, Charlotte served as President of Winchester Student Union, focusing on equality and diversity, the cost-of-living crisis, and sustainability. Her presidency also allowed her to collaborate with leading organisations such as JISC, QAA, and Coole Insight, where she contributed as a member of the QAA Student Strategic Advisory Committee to influence the national education agenda.

Currently, Charlotte works as a Representation Coordinator at Imperial College Union, where she supports student representatives and oversees democratic functions. Her dual experience as a former officer and current staff member gives her unique insights into fostering effective partnerships between students and institutions.

Charlotte’s connection with Coole Insight began during her presidency, where she benefited from our programmes. Now, as an Associate, she looks forward to giving back by supporting officers and student unions across the sector. Her expertise, enthusiasm, and dedication to student success make her a vital part of the Coole Insight team.

Looking Ahead

We are excited to have Charlotte join Coole Insight and look forward to her contributions as an Associate. Her commitment to student representation and equality will enhance our work and impact across higher education.
